Dedicated to the memory of Ian Brennan

This site is a tribute to Ian Brennan who was born in Warrington on March 16, 1966 and sadly passed away on January 18, 2021. He will always be remembered as the cheery, caring, loving father, husband and friend that we all love: the real Ian.

As many of you know, the past few years have been very hard for our family as we haved tried to cope with Ian's illness. It brings some relief to know that he is finally at peace. We would love this tribute page to remind us of and to celebrate the overwhelming good times we had with our dad, and the times he had with all of you ❤️

Alison, Matthew, Alex and Eloise invite you to join them and share your memories of Ian.

Thoughts

So many great memories with Ian and the family, especially in Scotland. I cooked scallops and langoustines for everyone and only got to eat one scallop even though Matt, Alex and Eloise said they didn’t like them!😀

Thanks for the comments everyone - I really love reading them, they’re so comforting. Same as what Matt said really, it’s been a big year for the family and it really is sad he’s not here to share that with. That being said, we are living lives that he’d be extremely proud of, and even though he set us up to lead those very lives I can still imagine he’d say ‘genie’ if he were to know the things we’ve been getting up to … Matt’s wedding in Tuscany, me moving to Lyon, Alex about to set off on a 2600km hike across America, Mum and I seeing Springsteen! Might sound a bit strange as one of the top things to miss but I do miss hearing Dad’s random little archaeology facts, however I’ve got Alex, who has absolutely taken on Dad’s passionate intellectual side, always sharing deep fun philosophy things! Dad was also super caring, more so than most. Matthew got this trait from dad, it’s defo not been lost when we have him 🥰 I loved so much how friendly dad was, he was the most people-person person I know. I like to think this is what I’ve taken from Dad. He’s missed, but he’s also found in a lot of people and places :))
